Edward was a shrewd businessman to say the least. He ran his part of town, as he could walk down the street and be recognized by anyone by his upper-class look and the twinkle in his eyes. He owned everyone on the street, and was instantly respected when he was within sight. He realized, however, that he needed a lady by his side to really be respected. He stopped by his favorite bar that night, and a lady caught his eye. It is pretty certain, he thought, that she would have caught his eye had he not even been looking for her. Edward offered to buy her a drink, sent a waiter away, and in his place came a man playing the guitar, singing a sweet symphony to the lady. One thing led to another, and the lady ended up at his place. The next morning, as she left, he asked for her name. Smiling, she shut the door.
